Guideline 4.0's library of FCS Components is fully customisable to match company's inventory and components available for each machine.

Some of the Guideline 4.0's, i.e. interference check and CAD-CAM export, rely on the seats geometry (named "tools") included in the library.Should you use different seats’ geometry than the FCS standard, you need to implement those geometries in Guideline 4.0 in order for those functionalities to be working properly: next chapters shows the right procedure to do it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: in this release it is possible to modify tools’ geometry, but not to implement alternative ones. In other word, if you use different dimensions alternatively (i.e. to accomodate rods in 2 alternative lenghts) for the same seat's size, that cannot be managed in Guideline 4.0 at the moment. You should implement in Guideline 4.0 the one better fitting your specific needs (i.e. the largest, or the one you use more often etc.) and manage the other cases "off line" (i.e. modifying the geometry in CAD, writing a note in the documentations).

BCK Solutions team is at your disposal to help you working out your case and define the most efficient approach.

Basic library mechanism

From this release, Guideline 4.0 library contains 2 sections: standard FCS library and CUSTOM library.

Standard library contains full FCS catalog (inclunding obsolete articles) and is placed under FCSSystem folder, organised in appropriate sub-directories (PALLETS, TABLES, M16 etc.). At every  release update, Guideline 4.0 will check for the components already present in the library and update them if needed, other than add new addition to FCS catalog.

Custom components must be placed into CUSTOM folder, which has identical sub-directories as FCSSystem. Custom components can be modifications of standard ones or additional. In the first case, components file must be named exactly as the original: Guideline 4.0 will find them into CUSTOM folder and will use those files instead of the standard ones. Please, note that with "modifications" is intended any modification in the file, including geometry, colors, letters' engreavement, layers ect.

Additional components can be freely named and they will be made available by Guideline 4.0 in the appropriate library's section, in addition to the standard FCS.
